RIng a Ding Ding

This was a shoot for Easton Eye Care. The season's frames were inspired by the early 60s, so we shot in the Stoltz Listening Room and stirred up some cocktails. Blow baby, Blow!

Croquet

The effervescence of love makes people loopy. I tried to celebrate this groom's feelings with color. They look like huge gum balls in a Dr. Seuss book. He got married in those wonderful socks. I bet I could still fit into my wedding day socks! The suit, not so much.

Laborers

People at work. It is such a fundamental act as natural as eating. Just about everybody has to go to work. I personally love going to work. I would not do well as a bon bon eater. So lately in my career, I have been blessed to go into people's workplaces and photograph them doing their thing. There have been great photographers like Sebastiao Salgado and August Saunders who made their whole careers exploring labor.

I have gotten to shoot jewelry makers, surveyors, vets, fish mongers, personal trainers and PR mavens.

How many of us spend more waking hours at work than at home? There is all this financial industry propaganda about retiring at 60. I guess if you hate your job that sounds pretty good. I feel blessed and uplifted every time I GET to pick up the camera.

Brothers

Here are two brothers. I love photographing children because they are honest and can sniff phony a mile away. They keep me honest in my work. I salute these two guys. Who knows where their journeys will take them? One thing is true, they will always be brothers.

Late Summer Molly

Sitting down by the Race on Fishers Island at sunset is one of life's great pleasures. Fishermen love the criss crossing currents, but I love the light. You can see the ferry come and go as the sun gets big and orange/red.

Molly looks wonderful here with a smear of ketchup on her cheek.

Socialite Jennifer Creel

I got this assignment to shoot for Quest magazine while I was on Fishers Island. Jennifer designs jewelry and sun glasses. I love the retro feel of this image but she is still sultry and earthy.

Baby Song

This was a precious shoot and a fleeting moment. The father plays a melody to his unborn child. She gave birth two weeks later. Everyone was healthy and happy.
